Students will be introduced to the following concepts:

Warmups: What, Why, and How
Friday June 12, 2026 2:30pm - 3:30pm PDT
Ever wonder why rehearsals start with a warm up? What's the point?  What's the meaning of life?

Okay, maybe we won't be able to answer the third one, but come dive in to a discussion on why the warmups can and should be the best part of your chorus or quartet rehearsal.

We'll chat about elements of a warm up, how to execute them with purpose, and why each part is important. A good warmup can help solve problems before they start, achieve your rehearsal goals, make you feel and sing better for the whole rehearsal, and help you achieve long-term goals.

And if you are already part of your rehearsal team, come exchange ideas to help refresh your warmups and make them even more fun and engaging.

Unit Sound: What It Is, What It Isn't, Why We Love It, and How To Get More Of It
Friday June 12, 2026 3:45pm - 4:45pm PDT
Ever wondered how the gold-medal choruses can merge so many amateur singers into one thrilling combination sound, where no individual voices can be detected? HCNW Chorus
Friday June 12, 2026 8:30pm - 9:30pm PDT
You don't need experience. You don't need a "perfect" voice. You just need to show up! Together, we'll explore the joy of harmony, the thrill of blending voices into something bigger than any one of us, and the quiet magic that happens when a group of people make music as one.

We'll learn. We'll laugh. We'll occasionally hit the wrong note — and laugh some more. Along the way, you'll discover your voice, build real friendships, and have some fun!

No auditions. No prerequisites. Just an open heart and a willingness to try. Your voice belongs here. Come find out what it can do!

This chorus will perform on the Saturday night show - make sure you sign up for all 4 rehearsals!

How to Succeed at Barbershop Without Really Trying (aka Barbershop Basics)
Friday June 12, 2026 8:30pm - 9:30pm PDT
There are countless ways to approach a song—but only a few things make it truly barbershop. In this class, we’ll focus on the five critical elements you must use to succeed. We’ll also expose a common trap: just because a chart is written in the barbershop style doesn’t mean you’re singing it that way. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what barbershop really is—and how to move from a “notes and words” singer to one who brings the music to life. Open to all, from novices to experts.

The Art of Teaching Tags
Friday June 12, 2026 8:30pm - 9:30pm PDT
Tag singing is a unique facet of barbershop culture, and for many people is their first exposure to barbershop singing. If you want to share barbershop with your friends, to build listening skills and vocal flexibility in your quartet or chorus, or just want to be more confident in facilitating tag singing, this class is for you.

By the end of this class, you will have learned a time-tested process for facilitating tag teaching, learned several tags, and taught at least one tag. Remember Tag Rule Number 1 - tag singing is about HAVING FUN!

Please come prepared by learning all four parts to a favorite SIMPLE tag. If you don't have one in mind, check out some of these options. I also highly recommend installing a Tag App on your device (Apple) (Android).
