Dr. Don Campbell and Rich Lapp are working together to offer a one-of-a-kind workshop for directors and assistant directors, of all levels, from around the Northwest.  In addition to the workshop, Don and Rich will be teaching classes and providing director coaching classes which are listed in SCHED.

SCHEDULE OVERVIEW:

Thursday
1-2:30pm - Introductions, open discussion
2:30-5pm - Scheduled small group rotations: directing classes with Don & rehearsal techniques with Rich
5-6:30 Dinner
6:30-9pm - Evening session together

Friday
9:00am-11:30am - group discussion, reflection, closing

One of the main concerns of barbershop chorus directors is understanding and improving synchronicity in their choruses. In this session, we will identify areas where lapses in unity and synchronicity can occur and discuss strategies to build greater competencies in this aspect.

This is an opportunity to interact one-on-one with an experienced chorus director. Through conversation prior to the HCNW weekend, you can determine exactly what topic(s) you would like to explore. Do you need specific guidance in RehearsalStructure? Effective Conducting? Part placing guests? Retention? Culture Development? Vocal Production? “Warm-ups”?... You name it. Have some real conversation about exactly what you need to help your chorus to be all that you want it to be. (You can bring your assistant director or whole music team if you like.)
