Highlight performances include engagements with San Francisco Opera and the National Centre for Performing Arts in Seoul, S. Korea.
After marrying a Barbershopper in 2014, Philp quickly became a highly sought-after clinician. He has given over 200 PVIs and has worked with numerous BHS, SAI, and HI ensembles of all sizes and skill levels. Joining the faculty at Harmony University in 2019, he has taught a wide range of courses such as Mechanics of Artistic Singing, Vocal Techniques for Directors, Posting like a Pro, Practicing like a Pro, Fixing your Flubbing, Critical Listening, 3 Steps to Pro Diction, Healthy Habits for Healthy Singing, and The Peak Performance State.
In his role as a singing judge, Dr. Grant conducts fun and engaging feedback sessions that are tailored to accentuate the essential tools and techniques necessary for cultivating a free, resonant, and well-supported vocal instrument. The ultimate objective is to foster a technique from which artistic expression can effortlessly emanate. In addition to his teaching, coaching, and judging commitments, Philip is the Executive Director of VanCity Harmony, but most of all, he enjoys singing with his wife, Donya, and her brothers in their mixed quartet, the 2023 EVG District Champions, Metzin' Around.
