About me
I have been a barbershopper for over 25 years! I got my start in the hobby during college, where I earned a Bachelor Degree I in Vocal Music and Music Composition. During that time I competed with multiple international level collegiate quartets, as well as being one of the founding members of the Barbershop Harmony Society’s first collegiate chapter, Five Towns College. I went on to sing in various other award-winning ensembles (“The Big Apple Chorus” of New York City, and later “The Ambassadors of Harmony” of St. Charles, Missouri). Finally, upon moving to Portland, I co-founded and created the Portland, OR chapter, where I currently direct the 2024 12th place internationally ranked chorus, PDX Voices! Along with directing, I also sing baritone in the 2025 Evergreen District Quartet Champion, Mugshot (my awesome wife, Katie sings lead!), as well as coaching many quartets and choruses in the area! This will be my fourth year on faculty at HCNW, and I can’t wait to meet you all, and help you on your journey through this wonderful thing we call “a hobby”! Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. I’m always available! See you soon!
