About me
Mike Rosen started using the music notation software Nightingale in the early 90s, when he got tired of singing from third-generation copies of poorly written mimeographs. He went to Finale NotePad around 2002, then PrintMusic, and finally the full Finale. Back then, SPEBSQSA was still sending hand-written charts to the chapters. Mike submitted a rewritten chart to Joe Liles, and got back about three pages of corrections. He’s gotten better.
Since the 2024 demise of Finale, Mike has been working with MuseScore, and he's anxious to share his tips and tricks that he's developed specifically for barbershoppers.
Mike's a volunteer copyist for the Society, having worked on well over a thousand scores, massaging old charts and new submissions into our current publishing standards. He recently retired after many, many years as a cabinetmaker, and he's always happy to talk tools and machines!
